How The Adventure Began
Forestry and Logging Journey
When Corwillieous “Toby” McDowell bought his first truck at the age of 18 he wasn’t sure where it would lead him. It was the late ’90s and the economy was doing well, as truckers and loggers alike were thriving in the state of Georgia. His father, Willie McDowell, taught him how to drive a truck at a young age and they eventually formed the company McDowell and Son Trucking.
McDowell hired his first driver at the age of 22 and starting building the business from there. He eventually built up a fleet of 20 trucks, mainly contract hauling for loggers in the Forsyth area. McDowell’s father helped him get the business started and then his young and eager son took it from there, changing the name of the business to C McDowell Trucking in the mid 2000s.
“And once the trucking started to doing well I wanted to venture off into logging. Being in the woods is all I ever done my whole life, I know logging equipment inside and out. So what determined me to start this business is once I started buying new equipment I thought it would be great to start selling old equipment instead of trading it in. I knew I had good used equipment and that someone somewhere would be blessed by purchasing it at a good deal. Also we are willing to let customers come try our equipment out in our job site before they purchase it. Not many companies are willing to do this.
